Introducing Violin and Fiddle Teacher Kristi Hughes
 |
 I
began training classically on the violin in 1989 in Washington
state at the age of nine.. A few years after that, I started I also took up fiddle style. I
have performed for many audiences as a soloist, with informal groups, and
in orchestras in Washington and California. |
| In 97/98 I played with the Fresno Youth Philharmonic and joined the
National Old Time Fiddlers' Association. In the spring of
98, I won 9th place in the state for fiddle in the 12 – 18 age bracket. In
summer 98, I recorded an album with District 2 of the National Old Time Fiddlers' Association. |

 I have played at the Kerman 4th of July program for several years
with my husband, star students, and other band members, and
played at Borders Books and Coffeehouse several times. |
| In Spokane Washington, I studied under Morris Oliver for 8 years. In
Fresno, I studied under Cynthia Stuart for 2 years, and Dr. Margets from
Fresno State for a year. I'm currently studying under Master
Violinist Christina Brice Dolanc, who plays with the Fresno Philharmonic and increasing my repertoire of
violin and fiddle songs. |

now perform with my husband at various church events, senior homes,
hospitals, family gatherings, fairs and festivals. See our live
